Verkö Slott - Orrviken

We had a wonderful time! The summer experience was fantastic, and we enjoyed a lovely boat ride. Plus, there was a sweet dog that made our visit even more delightful!

The island offers a stunning landscape that is definitely worth a visit, especially to enjoy the incredible views from the tower. However, our experience at the castle left much to be desired. The buffet was quite pricey, featuring only salmon and a selection of herring, with no vegetarian options or desserts available. Additionally, drinks were not included, not even a basic lemonade. Unfortunately, we were unable to visit the inner areas of the castle. We also encountered rude staff, and the loud, unpleasant music at the buffet was very off-putting—this beautiful setting doesn't need it. Overall, while the island is lovely and the boat trip from Östersund is wonderful, dining at the castle was quite expensive for what was offered.

There is a lot of trash in the outdoor area when a certain door opens every 20 minutes. The table service is lacking, but the food is good.
