Bidra med feedbackLove the flank steak and philly cheese. Service is great, pleasant staff and reasonable pricing. Highly recommend checking them out. Line ups can get long so be prepared to wait a bit during busy hours.
I always wanted to try this place and finally got the chance today. I ordered take out of the beef and chicken empanadas. The owner asked me how I would like my empanadas- baked or fried? either or I said. So he fried the beef and baked the chicken empanadas. Both were very good- pillowy and lots of meat on it. It came also with a coleslaw as side. I totally recommend this place.
Fabulous food! The Chicken Ranchero sandwich was delightful I liked it even more than I expected to! The chicken was crispy and hot, the greens were fresh, the basil was plentiful, and the bread soft, yet up to the task. Wonderful sandwich highly recommend.
I was so sad when they closed their St. Mary's location as I loved their empanada, chicken dishes, pastas and sandwiches. They re-opened last year at the Forks in the newly updated food court where there's a wine and beer step up bar. Simon's is one of the few new kiosks there, though their menu has shrunk a bit. You can't get the pastas (which I was sad about) or the chicken dishes but you can definitely still get the empanadas (smaller selection) and the sandwiches that they are so famous for sandwich de milanesa.<br/ <br/ I love their spicy beef empanada $3.70 each which you can get baked or fried. They're great for a light meal. Great flavours and a hint of heat. It's just as delicious as I remember!
We had the Locro (a stew) and the Sandwich de Milanesa (with egg and cheese). The stew was amazing, with tender chunks of beef and Lima beans. Simon makes the stew for winter and offered us samples, which sold us. If you pair this with a beer flight from The Common, you have an hour well spent.
