The unassuming exterior and matching interior hide their secret. They make the best Chinese food in north Winnipeg. Never a problem parking nearby. Food comes out of the kitchen hot and is always freshly made tasting. The ’chinese’ french fries are a little greasier than from other local Chinese restaurants, but they taste fabulous and grease goes with French fries, Prices are reasonable and they are open for business comparable to other city Chinese food restaurants. The staff is pleasant even when they are very busy. Good reliable consistent food. I highly recommend them

Everyone has their favorites this is one place anyone can enjoy takeout and delivery only have not had anything I did not like have been coming here for over 25 yrs. always fresh always hot some of the best I've had staff/owners are always pleasant good value for the money

We order from this little take out place once in a while. It is a take out only place. Call ahead and pick up. Not sure if they do delivery. If you pay cash there is a bit of a discount. This last time they didn't put any fortune cookies in our order. We were disappointed as everyone loves those. We ordered shrimp, veal, chop suey, fried rice, chow mein, vegs. You get a container of white rice. The chow mien and chop suey were so indistinguishable you had no idea which was which. Food is always tasty and ready at the time requested.

I have known about New Diamond Chinese Food since I was old enough to order out. Great food! It's an unassuming place. You can only have delivery, or pick up. They are still using the old swish swish credit card machine. I highly recommend the New Diamond special. It's my favorite. All of their food is yummy.. but the special combines it all. Such a take out tradition for me that I'm glad that it's still serving the same great quality food near 40 years. I'm surprised that it doesn't have tons of 5 star reviews.. but then.. maybe it's a North End secret? One of the last of the wonderful North End restaurants since Keleki's, and Alicia's closed down.
