Barley Brothers - Winnipeg

Went here for dinner and beers after the cinema, around 7.15pm. It wasn't very busy at the time, was seated promptly by a friendly gal, and given both the food and beer menus.After a couple of minutes the gentleman running the bar came over to see which beer I would like, and also took my food order. The beer (Blood Alley Bitter - excellent) arrived very quickly, and in less than 10 minutes the food arrived. I ordered the steak and fries with a green peppercorn gravy. Steak was done to my request, it was very good, not gourmet, but this is a pub serving "pub-grub". Time for a second beer. They were out of the bitter, so tried a local Manitoba brew, Little Scrapper, at the recommendation of the bar tender, and was not disappointed.To cap of the evening, they were playing my kind of music, The Beatles, so all in all a good experience. I will be back next time I'm in Winnipeg.

Went there for dinner. The girl who sat us was nice gave us a food menu. server took a long time to see come and when she came and she didn't even greet us, all she said was she will be back with a beer menu. This started off rude. She got the beer menus and just ran off. Didn't come by for another 10 minutes. Place isn't that busy. Only 6 other tables in here and saw 2 other servers. She took awhile to come back and when she did wasn't helpfull at all just want to quickly get our orders food and drink! BecuAse we had so much time. Would complain about the entire service. The drinks came out slow and the food came out fast. Yes the food came out fast I Had a sip of my drink and the food is already here. Felt like I'm being rushed out of this place at 7 pm there's plenty of open tables. The pace of dinner just sucked. I've been here a few times don't think I will be back anymore. Menu is a lot smaller, food wasn't bad, but it wasn't good. Place might just be good to try for their beer selection. But other than that this place is dive.

Both times I have gone for lunch, We have had good food and service. I am not a beer drinker but there is a huge menu with a wide variety for those that do. The food was both good tasting and hot and plentiful. If you like pub type food and craft beer, I highly recommend giving it a try.

Had a lovely time out for dinner and of course a couple of different types of beer to sample. Nice selection and quite a bit of beers on the list!!!

I was hesitant to come back here because the first time we went when they first opened, the food and experience was not good.This time around, the food has improved and the service was much more friendly and attentive. Great selection of beer as always. Although I wish there were more selection of imported beers.
