Canal House - Wharton

I went for the first time yesterday and enjoyed it. I expect to come back. The chili was mild, but pleasant with a beautiful presentation containing large fresh hot tortilla chips. The fried pickles were great! I had a burger for the main course and it was big and delicious. The staff was friendly and the restaurant was very attractive. I liked that salad could be exchanged for the frits at no cost. I think something went wrong with our meal because they had an extremely long gap between the soup course and the main course, then they brought my right meal and a wrong one for my companion. Then they took the BTH dinner. When we came back, they were both cold. So I took a star. But it seemed like all the other diners got their food in normal time, so that was probably a strange exception. As I said, I expect a return because it was a generally pleasant experience.

I went to the Canal House and thought it was very nice... The staff was excellent and the Prime Rib delicious... The bar has 20 designs of beers and everyone is friendly.... You have music all weekend I would definitely make that my place for dinner and drinks

I had a chicken sandwich, not hard to do right, wrong. The chicken was dry as sand and the bread was just turned into a cracker. My friend had the burger or should I say two bites again dry as bones. who cooks or should I say to try. Do not waste your time or money

The hamburger was very dry and overcooked, although I specifically asked for medium. The beer was probably irrigated because it didn't taste like a Sam Adams that is my favorite. And what about the staff who clean the parking lot and the lawn in their white coats that they use to cook and serve food???? The health department should shut you down!

The food and service are very good. Weather permitting, dining on the patio is really nice.
