Bidra med feedbackI had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. We waited 20 minutes to be seated, and then waited almost an hour for our food to arrive. The waitress was not attentive at all, and it felt like we were bothering her. The food was really bad. My son's lobster pizza came out 20-30 minutes before everything else, so he had to watch us eat. The crab fries looked like regular fries and parts of the food were cold even though the plate itself was hot. We paid $165 and honestly would have been happier with a frozen pizza. I left most of my food uneaten and wouldn't even take it home in a box. This was my first and last time at Red Lobster.
Once seated, our waitress failed to inform us about the menu, specials, or catch of the day. We overheard another waitress at a nearby table cheerfully providing this information to her guests. To make matters worse, my silverware had a fly stuck to it, and the knife from the replacement set was dirty. I requested to speak to a manager, but none came to assist us. I ordered the Crab Feast with rice, but it was served with crab legs placed over potatoes instead. The waitress remained inattentive throughout the meal, causing dinner to drag on for 2.5 hours. Needless to say, we were not satisfied with the experience. I have reached out to the manager via email and am waiting to see if she responds.
The management at this restaurant is absolutely terrible! Nobody seems to know what they are doing and it takes forever to get seated. During our most recent visit, we were seated and informed about a crab special. We ordered the crab, along with an appetizer and soft drinks. However, shortly after our drinks and appetizer were served, our server returned to apologize for being out of crab and offered us a different menu. We declined, but were still charged for the drinks and appetizer. When we asked to speak to the manager, she only apologized and blamed our server for still being in training. We were extremely disappointed with the manager's attitude and lack of support for her employees. We will not be returning, as there are plenty of other great dining options in the west Des Moines area that offer better service and respect for their staff.
Never again. They said it would be a 30 minute wait; we waited close to an hour. We sat at our table for 10 minutes before anyone showed up. She began by apologizing for being late, and then for the fact that the biscuits were messed up. Our appetizer took forever, and our server apologized, again. Then the food took close to an hour (there were two of us). Another apology. No one checked on us our entire meal, but the manager came by thinking we wanted to talk it must have been another table. I only complain when I think that it can result in a change for the better. The only way to change this place for the better is to burn the building to the ground and start over. At the very least you need to fire some people because that is pathetic management.Seriously, how do you f' up the biscuits? The mix at Costco tastes better.
Food was typical chain seafood. Our server was wonderful but seemed to be trapped by a poor performing kitchen. From seating us to serving us was 1.5hrs. It takes 45-min to get your food right now... from the server. Just show up understanding that it takes a while and you 'll enjoy your visit. Our entire time there was almost 3 hours on a Father 's Day. I will go back.
