Bidra med feedbackReally nice poolside location. They make great fresh cocktails, selection was to be noted, and the made equally good mocktails. Personally a treat for me.

I planned a birthday celebration but unfortunately food or drink menus available so we left after our cup of wine and a few photos. My 1st time their, the staff was not very helpful or friendly. The atmosphere, rooftop view and live music made it okay.
Bad Joke Taking the time to do this because a warning label is crucial. Somehow, I always thought that Open Table relied on someone to try a venue before putting it on the list of places to dine. This myth has been irrevocably shattered. The photos on the web site are lovely. But lack of menus should have been a warning. It was impossible to penetrate the Marriott, Ritz Carlton or Ven robot answering systems to reach a human being at the hotel on my first five tries. I did finally find a menu on another web site, and it looked okay for a light lunch. I did finally outsmart the computer and talk with someone at the front desk. He said that he could not connect me with the restaurant, and did not have time to look for their phone number. Arrived at the hotel and tried to take the elevator to the roof. Would not move without a key. There were two staff at the front desk. When I said I had a reservation for lunch, one of them said “‘WHAT?’ The other asked me to confirm that I really did have a reservation. My guest arrived as we were talking. The hotel staffer offered to escort us to the roof. We took the elevator to the 9th (top floor, and then climbed four short flights of steps to the roof. (ISN’T IT AGAINST THE LAW FOR A PUBLIC SPACE TO NOT HAVE HANDICAPPED ACCESSIBLE ARRANGEMENTS? We found about a half-dozen tables next to the pool, with a bar and snack facility nearby. There were almost enough umbrellas to provide some shade. The space is clearly designed for swimmers’ snacks, not upscale dining. The menu was identical to the one I had found online. But when we asked for what we wanted, our first three choices were not available. We each ordered a beet salad. These were handed to us prepackaged from the fridge. The salads were good: a combination of red and yellow beets, quinoa and some greens. Would have made a lovely side dish. The loud music for the swimming pool that was blaring from speakers made conversation challenging.
This bar on the top of the hotel with a pool has a nice view of the city. Not that DC has much of a skyline. The pool is nice to relax after a day of exploring the museums. We went during the day for a couple drinks during Pride. We also came back in the evening before dinner for pre-drinks. It wasn't crowded. A couple people in the pool. The bar as a selection of food and cocktails. The bar service was friendly. Drinks are about what I expect from a hotel roof bar.
