Al Ristoro - VOLTERRA

To our ignorance and after being rudely treated at a few restaurants because many stop serving on Sunday between 16:00 and 18:30, we wandered into Al Ristoro11. One previous restaurant actually seated us, set the table but never returned. They left us sitting there for 15 20 min! When we looked to enquire no one was around! So needless to say we were hungry and a bit downtrodden when we wandered in. It was already after 16:00 and no one was in the restaurant. A waitress heard us and arrived at the reception and we asked if they would serve us. They were very kind to us American tourists who were very hungry and looking for an early Sunday supper. They seated us outside as we requested, offered us very attentive service and we enjoyed a delicious meal of pizza, salad and house wine which was delicious! I cannot say enough about their hospitality, yummy pizza, and good house wine! If you get a chance, please give them a chance. I realize they do not have good ratings, which surprised me when I searched for them to write this review! Their treatment of us turned around our impression of Volterra!

Had lunch in here with friends while taking a break from a bit of light exploring. The pizzas were first class but the service a little bizarre. The young waiter missed all the side orders and seemed more interested in watching videos on his phone than actually working couple that with incorrect bills and a general air of confusion was amusing but not conducive with a return visit.

My husband I had dinner here tonight we both had the €15 3 course evening special. We were both very pleased with our choices and both the food and the service were excellent.. highly recommended

Excellent service and most of us were french so exigent : We advise you the carbonara and the pizzas. Glass of wine is also fantastic. To conclude, a fair price to let you happier.

My husband and I had just completed a 22km hike in Tuscany (Lonely Planet Medieval Hills). We were very,very hungry and were so happy to find Al Ristoro. They had a great selection of local dishes. My husband had the seafood with risotto and I had the homemade raviolli with butter both were excellent! The service was outstanding, too.
