Bidra med feedbackWe stopped for lunch while walking through Venice. Our order included meat plate, 2 pizzas, a pasta dish, and drinks. Note that you do not get the free spritzer when you check in with Yelp. One of the pizzas was incorrect so we had to wait for the entire order to arrive. There was no bread served with the meat plate so I wouldn't recommend this appetizers. The pasta was good and the pizzas were fine. The reason for only 3 stars has to do with service. I tried smiling at our server, we didn't complain about the food mixup, so I cannot explain the why our server was t pleasant. There are many cafes in Venice to choose from so I'm torn about recommending this location.
This was the last restaurant we ate in Italy. Food was absolutely delish. The squid ink pasta was cooked perfectly and squid was tender. The mussels were the star of the evening. The white wine sauce was so yummy, I could drink it like soup. The mussels was amazingly soft and just melted in my mouth. Spaghetti and meatballs were good. Turbot fish and clams were ok; nothing really special. I liked the artichoke over the spinach. I would come back if ever in Venice.
We arrived off the ferry in the afternoon not having had breakfast and we were pretty starving. I try and avoid ristorantes along the main paths so we wandered down an alley and stumbled across San Provolo. My wife was in search of Spaghetti with Squid Ink and sure enough they had it. Walked in and were quickly greeted and sat. Decent music in the background and not overcrowded, the atmosphere was quite pleasant. Anyways, bottom line my wife loved the spaghetti with squid ink and I had the spaghetti with clams and mussels and omg it was so good as well. So good in fact I used the rolls given to us to sop up every last bit of olive oil, garlic, and sauce out of my plate. Phenomenal food, good service, will be coming back again before we leave.
Alles war gut.
