Bidra med feedbackA charming restaurant with charming staff. Martina and Thomas Gautschi are running the place, serving, cooking. Very pleasant and friendly, flexible with wishes that deviate from the menu, which is very interesting by itself. The restaurant is obviously visited by people who do not stay in the pension that are run by the same people, and rightly. When you visit Val Lumnezia, this place is an excellent choice for lunch or dinner. Switzerland is expensive compared to Germany, France and other European countries, and this restaurant is no exception, although they have a few options that you do not ruin.
We decided to stay here because Vella is about halfway along the Senda Lumneziana, which we wanted to hike in two bites. We received a warm welcome and useful information for our planned hike. The restaurant offers two studios. Each includes a room with single beds that can be connected to a double. The duvets are 100% cotton and the beds are solid so that sound and refreshing sleep. The room is equipped with a table, two chairs, armchair, wardrobe and coffee machine. There is also a small kitchenette. A French window opens into a small terrace with garden furniture. The bathroom is fully equipped and even has hooks to hang clothes: something I also missed in 4 star hotels. My only handle is over the shower curtain. They always want to bring you into a lousy hug. I prefer showers with doors. The studio was impeccable and absolutely quiet and is located in a separate building behind the restaurant. We took half board because after a long day on the way we knew that we would rather sit for a meal without having to find a restaurant and use a menu. The dinner was a four-headed meal, interesting taste, fresh ingredients, perfectly prepared and presented, with attentive yet inconspicuous service. It was a highlight we were looking forward to on the way.
So far I had the pleasure to visit Trutg twice, last year and this year. The restaurant has a relaxed and refined feeling with very friendly and competent service. The food is typical local filler specialties. Try the capuns as an appetizer or main dish. I look forward to my next visit to Vella and Restaurant Trutg!
