Bidra med feedbackWe visited this restaurant with 8 people. Grumpy staff, mediocre food and high prices. When receiving the bill the food we returned was still on there canard magret that was the moment the true nature of this establishment revealed itself in the person of the...chef. First threatening to call the police if we did not pas for all, she started bartering exchanging one dish for another to get as much money out of us as possible. Accusing us of being impolite, lood etc she or her staff never considered to apologise for the quality of the food. I suggest you try to avoid this place when and wherever possible. There are nicer places in town and the frequent bus is free.
As can be seen in the picture the menu states that his restaurant is not for people in a hurry, I think this was a typo and it should have said ‘not for people that are hungry’. I have been here a number of times...in the past and this visit proved to be worse than ever before. We entered the restaurant 30 mins before the kitchen opened. We chose to wait as the weather was bad and we had already walked here. We enquired as to whether we could see a menu and put in our orders before the kitchen opened. We were told this was not possible. After the kitchen opened it was 10 minutes before we were taken to our table, we then waited another 30 minutes to have our order taken. Definitely not for people in a hurry! Once we ordered the food did come quick which was good but there were errors on the order but being English we chose to eat it and not say anything to the staff. We ordered a pizza with peppers and onions and it came with peppers and pepperoni, I could understand onions and pepperoni but how did onions disappear from the order to be replaced by pepperoni? We then had a desert where it was not clear whether a chocolate fondant came with any ice cream or normal cream. We asked the waiter who told us that it came on it’s own. We asked if we could have ice cream to which he said yes but for a charge, we decided to take it. The fondant arrived relatively quickly with both cream and ice cream and also our extra ice cream that we had ordered. Luckily they realized the mistake and did not charge us for the extra ice cream. Finally the price. Overall I would say this restaurant is medium expensively priced. On receiving the bill I was concerned that I had taken class a drugs as we were charge 10 euros for 2 33cl Coke’s.
We called in here a couple of times for drinks. The bar area is very comfortable and welcoming, especially when the fire is lit. They had Mont Blanc weiss beer on draft, and a couple of local bottled beers, which we were keen to try....The prices were quite expensive, but did include a substantial plate of nibbles if you are hungry, that makes it better value, but if you don't want the nibbles you don't get any discount!
Nice staff but only two waiters The place is nicely decorated An interesting formula at 40€ Great pizzas 45mn A great wine list with splendid Mondeuse red wine from Savoie and one of the best Bandol south of France in red and rosé: Terrebrune
We were made to recommend this restaurant and especially its typical dish: the fondue samovar. This dish consists of two meat dishes (beef and chicken) cut in carpaccio that must be cooked in a broth and served with fries as well as different sauces. servers are very friendly and they've done everything to make our dinner go well. we highly recommend this restaurant that offers a lot of specialties and whose atmosphere is very friendly. We will surely return to this restaurant during our next holiday in val d'isère.
