Bidra med feedbackWe came across this delightful little local auberge whilst just exploring around the area having spent some time visiting war graves and ww1 battlefields.Lunch was superb and really good value for money. A range of fish
I picked this outwardly unprepossessing auberge for lunch one sunny day while pausing in the pretty little Somme-side village of Suzanne. Friendly welcome, good food (I had the calves' liver as recommended in an earlier review); not ultra-cheap, but reasonable value.
Close to Cappy and the lakes and canals, this unassuming bistro is a wonderful find.Great for lunch (only open in evenings on Friday and Saturday), it has 3 prix fixe menus. Especially good entrees are the Canard and the Calves' Liver - it just melted in the mouth. Desserts are generous and definitely homecooked - iles flottante especially delicious. A friendly and quirky venue for a relaxed family birthday while boating on the nearby Canal - look out for the wooden clogs decorating the walls!
Our hosts in Gueudecourt had recommended this restaurant as a good place to stop for lunch during our trip around the Somme valley. It proved to be so, with prompt and friendly service in a homely ambiance.
We stayed in a farmhouse nearby and visited here on our last evening. We had a lovely meal and it was a fitting end to a great week in the area. There is a very warm and homely atmosphere and the host, Sylvie, is polite and welcoming. The food was fantastic and there is a lot of choice from two very reasonably priced set menus. I would thoroughly recommend.
