I absolutely love the pineapple fire rice at that restaurant, it's the best of the best!
Located off the main tourist areas, this restaurant offers a unique and authentic dining experience away from the typical tourist traps.
I really wanted to like this place, the owner is Thai and super nice. I ordered the basil beef, tom yum soup and green curry with duck. The soup tasted nothing like any tom yum I ever had in thailand or canada for that matter. It was a bland broth with 2 pieces of mushroom in it and a couples pieces of broccoli, luckily it was cheap but it was not tom yum soup. The basil beef was ok... kinda oily though and again... bland. The green curry was kinda bizarre. The green color was odd looking and it didnt have that strong curry with coconut flavor you are hoping for. Maybe it's cheap ingredients or maybe its a lack of ingredients being used but this restaurant needs help in the kitchen. I really wished this place was good and I support small business owners but these guys really need to focus on making their food great because the location and interior of the restaurant is very poor.
First visit and went with a friend who really enjoys the duck soup. Service was quick and attentive, although the server seemed a bit shy and I had a hard time hearing him and had to ask him to repeat himself a few times. The food was excellent. I had a taste of my friend's duck soup and I think I could quite happily try it next time - even just for the broth! I had soup and a lunch special with Crab Ragoon and spring rolls which were very good.
