Yummy House China Bistro Sarasota

Lived in China for 5 years, been to 6 Florida locations. When you order true Chinese fare, it’s really good. There ain’t much, but there is enough. The mostly Americanized stuff is horrible. It’s horrible everywhere. Acquiring the taste is critical, not easy and not possible for most.. Thank God for the exposure. Most of us will never really eat true Chinese fare.

Stopped in for lunch and was dismayed by price raises. Ordered hot and sour soyp and egg roll. The egg rolls were disappointing little deep fried wraps of nothing. The menu said vegetable filled, but there was nothing inside. The soup was thin, almost flavorless with tiny shrimp and hints of other seafood. Very disappointing. Not the quality I have experienced in the past.

Fresh flavorful stir fry with beef and broccoli. Mild fried rice with BBQ pork. Crisp and delicious almond chicken stir fry. Very good service and food arrived quickly. Nice quiet (but also busy) restaurant with full menu and bar. Our hotel concierge recommended Yummy House and we were delighted with our meal.

Really loved coming here with the kids. The magnolia beef and the sweet-and-sour chicken were great and the prices were also amazing. Will definitely be back.

It was OK. Food was fine but it was more eclectic Chinese food than traditional. They are proud of their sauces. Flavor was ok. selection was a bit sparse.
