Bidra med feedbackI visited and ate at Hawker Chan knowing that it no longer had a Michelin one-star. The food was ok and it was on my list of places to visit. I had two dishes. One chicken the other pork belly. The chicken I would give 4 stars and the pork belly 3. The pork belly was not cooked properly and the texture was strange. If you are a visiting it is worth the trip if you are intrigued by its history and if you are already planning to be in the area.
4-star for food, 3-star for service A bit too oily, but their crispy roasted pork has better quality than other similar stalls in hawker centres. The price is higher though. Potion was normal comparing other shops, not enough for males without side dishes,etc… , I’m sure. Customers are almost tourists, in all, one of reasonable places to enjoy local food. Service was just robot-like, no friendly attitude, no smile at all. The way of female staff clearing the tables was so rough that there we heard a lot of noise.
Worlds first 1-star Michelin hawker and this is why many tourists inside the shop , including us . We order 3 combinations , 2 noodles , 1 vegetable and 2 juices and the total is SGD 33 which is definitely high in my opinion , comparing with the portion size. Taste is good for sure but I think its quite similar to many places who selling the same items. However , good for me to have this dining experience.
Located at New Bridge Centre beside myCK store along Smith Street, Hawker Chan has been awarded a Michelin star for their Soy Sauce Chicken, making it the most affordable Michelin restaurant in the area. Their signature dish is their glistening browned chicken, which is flavorful, juicy, and not overly salty. In addition to their famous chicken, they also offer other roasted delights such as Char Siew and Roasted pork. The Char Siew is just as delicious, with well-controlled flavors and a perfect char. However, their Roasted meat may not be to everyone's taste as it has a strange smell and taste, and the skin is not crispy. Their fried shrimp dumplings also fall short, with under-marinated inner fillings. Despite these minor drawbacks, the Soy Sauce Chicken is a must-try at $28 for a whole chicken or $15 for half. While the other dishes may not meet the same high standards, they are still worth exploring.
Ample seating space. Cheap prices. Soya chicken is tender. The hor fun noodles are BOMB.
