If the club house sandwich is a yardstick by which a good diner can be measured, Deb's is clearly a great diner and well worth the small detour off the 401. House roasted chicken, abundant bacon, classic bread everything fresh. Generous portions. Likewise the hot turkey sandwich. Fantastic. Real mashed potatoes (no flakes here! and lots of gravy. Clean. Very friendly. Excellent value. Will definitely return.
Eggs, toast, and home fries for $5. No tax. What? Where am I, and what time portal have I traveled through? There's something to be said about places like this. It's not pretending to be something it's not. You don't come here because it's touristy. If anything, it's an example and reminder of how we've forgotten the simple things in life. Sometimes, less is more. Simple is better. Get seated. Order coffee. Enjoy a few sips. Order food. Food arrives, freshly prepared. Service is quick, and efficient. You're not there to make a new friend. However, I'm sure if I ate there every week which I easily would if I lived in the area I'd know each of the staff by name. I have every intention of stopping there again when I'm in the area.
Breakfast is great. Haven't been for other meals so can't comment on that. Peameal bacon, eggs, home fries and toast for well under $10. Portion sizes are great. Service is top notch. Ambiance is good... your typical diner
We 've been coming here for years (back when it was called Jumpin ' Johnnies . Large portions you never leave hungry! Attracts a local crowd, who enjoy the food and the ability to smoke inside. Recent price hike and change in sausage/bacon suppliers take a little broom off the rose. Our order was a 'big breakfast ' (3 eggs, toast, fries, and 8 sausages!!! and the country boy sandwich platter (clubhouse with fries and coleslaw . We also recommend the open face hot hamburger platter. The gravy is tasty. (The gas price is a few cents more per litre here than other nearby places Overall still a value and we will return whether they like it or not.
