The Social - Severna Park

I have eaten here many times and absolutely love it. They do a good job of changing the menu every week or two but there are some things that remain the same each week. The eggrolls are always incredible. The change the eggrolls often. One week they are brisket. One week it's cheesesteak. Etc. Whatever it is, they are always fantastic. They typically always have a fish entree on special. If the Red Drum is on the menu, that is fantastic. He will typically do it over rice or risotto, but with a twist. He puts a bit of pancetta or andouille sausage in with the risotto. Not overwhelming, but enough to pull out a bit of the flavor of the meat. The risotto is always cooked to perfection. He also typically has a leafy vegetable in the bed as well. Spinach is pretty common but I have seen collards and so forth. Whatever they do with the fish, it's always an excellent choice. My son gets the berry cobler every time as well and loves it. It's more than enough to share. They also have a great selection of bourbons and ryes as well as other spirits. They have a handful of beers on tap as well. I would highly recommend it, especially with the chef who's there now. He does an excellent job.

Very nice place. The food is good. We've had some amazing meals and others are just okay. The salmon they use on salads has had a fishy bloodline but the salads are great. I had a wonderful pork tenderloin special dish the first time we visited that was excellent.

I enjoyed my visit and our service was good, but the prices are ridiculous. Ordered deviled eggs for $9 and you get 2 eggs. Sure they cut them in half so you have 4, but that's still only 2. I then decided to change what I was going to order for food after that. With the high prices I expected larger quantities or really high quality food and was disappointed by both. Until prices come down I will not be back. I ordered a salad for $12. They wanted $8 more to add chicken. That would have been a $24 salad that I could have gotten at Panera bread for $12. Service was good but not THAT good.
