Nice executive course. Had an explosion! Lunch in the grill is always very delicious!
Play St. Mark Executive Course for the first time. Absolutely good condition. Mixes short holes with comparable long holes. Greens are perfect. The staff is very friendly. Recommend this course for all skills.
The course has been known as Lake San Marcos South Course since the days. When St. Mark, they added a small practice that was green, trimmed a few of the tree canopy, the border were unfair, and have a well maintained course. You will not find fluffy sand in the bunkers and there are some muddy spots from the overwater, but these usually do not even come into play. Greens are medium speed with manageable gradient and plaster quite true. Expect to play 2 shots on the green on the sole 4 on the front nine, because a straight line of tea goes to green over OB and trees. On the other hand, all 3 Par four on the back nine are within reach for bombers. The 11th and 16 require a gentle drawing to come on or near the green, but the fun 18th is about 270 and all downhill, so it is less than the driver for most and accessible with a baby cut or straight high trajectory tea shot. If you are like me and often finish races before twilight, this course is ideal as there is no fencing and there is no risk of getting your car caught by a locked gate. Depending on Tee Box locations, this can be up to 7. Hole the only among the par 3 holes that requires more than one wedge for the tea shot.
Drove down from Orange County to play a round with friends today. There was no one in front of us and a group of 7 followed by a group of 5 four holes behind us. There were 6 of us and we weren?t holding anyone up, following proper golf etiquette, and keeping really good pace so we decided to play together. On hole 9 by the clubhouse, the manager comes out on the patio and yells at us to split apart, so we did, into a foursome and a double. A group of six white men drive by and nothing is said to them? As we continue to play, a man comes by in a golf cart and talks to both of our groups separately, saying they take golf ?seriously? around here. He continues to go past us to the next hole and hides behind a tree and watches our group. Keep in mind, there?s a group of 7 and a group of 5 being extremely rowdy and holding people up four holes behind us. This obviously ruins the atmosphere of our round so I drive up to the clubhouse and the guy and the manager are there talking. Turns out the guy who was stalking us DOESN?T EVEN WORK HERE. His name is Martin and he?s a ?local? that terrorizes women of color. Martin claims there was a shortage on carts meanwhile he?s on a cart by himself stalking our group when he didn?t even pay for a round. It?s a reallyyyyy bad look for how this place is run when you?re letting a local terrorist of a man named Martin discriminate against people of color and letting him run amuck on the course stalking groups. Highly would not recommend this place.
