Claim Jumper Restaurants - San Diego

Was visiting my son at UCSD not so long ago when we decided to go out for a late lunch at Claim Jumper at this location. Food was great as always but service was not what I expected. Somebody took our order and forgot about us (restaurant had only a few tables occupied) until I complained about our missing drinks and bread. Service improved after that with no further incident. Food was great while service not so great at the begining of our visit. Prices are a bit high.

Happy Hour till 9:30 pm! Say what?!? I can 't believe that there 's such a thing. We ordered few appetizers and ordered our drinks with no shame. Spinach Artichoke Dip with enough chips and bread for $6 was too good. $10 Happy Hour Sampler includes Buffalo Wings, onion rings, loaded skins, and mozzarella cheese was banging with flavor. Lemon Pepper Zucchini for $4 is a must have. It was really really really good. Our waitress was awesome! Ordering Happy Hour alcohol from her was very pleasant, and she was very helpful. Eventhough I ordered a shot second time around and requested it to be on the rocks. She gave me no judgment and replied with 'Of course, we could do that for you. ' We were definitely happy during those hours!

The menu offers a great variety, featuring delicious steaks, salads, and burgers. There's also a lovely selection for the children's menu.

We visited the Caramel Mountain Restaurant and enjoyed a ribeye steak that was cooked and seasoned to perfection. I swapped the meal's salad for a house salad and was pleased to choose a second side dish instead. The portion sizes were just right for sharing with my partner. For dessert, we savored an incredible carrot cake, which we also shared. It was a wonderful meal to celebrate my birthday!

I really love this place and frequently have lunch here. I enjoy sitting at the bar, where my server is always Arianne. Their customer service is truly exceptional.
