Bidra med feedbackThis place is awesome. Good food, good beer, good vibes. And can't beat the price
The food is probably some if the best bar food I have had, and the menu is definitely unique. I recomend the Betty White, or the Jim Morrison. You will understand when you get there.
I had not eaten here in a couple years and wanted to treat a friend of mine to a meal at a local restaurant. Since she is moving out of state in a month, and D&G has always been an icon in St. Joseph, I wanted her to try it. I remember eating here frequently as a kid, and the food was outstanding. That was not the case tonight. We arrived a little after 7 o’clock, and overheard one of the employees in a conversation with someone who was using extremely foul language, definitely not a very welcoming situation when you first walk into a place of business. After a few minutes, we were seated only to be forgotten about. It was well over 40 minutes before we saw a waitress and could even place a drink order. We quickly placed our food order at the same time. It took another 35 to 40 minutes before our food arrived. I ordered the Simon and french fries. There was so much barbecue sauce on the sandwich that it ran off the bread, and was almost sickening to eat. The roast beef was stringy and tough and every time I took a bite half of it came off of the bread, and was nearly impossible to chew. in the past I have ordered that sandwich dozens of times and always considered it one of the absolute best sandwiches that you could find anywhere in Saint Joseph. Tonight it was barely fit to eat. I left a fourth of the sandwich and probably that many of the french fries on my plate. The french fries were overly greasy and tasted like old grease. After placing our food order, we never saw our waitress again, so there were no drink refills. We were not asked if we would like to have a dessert. Certainly not the experience I wanted my friend to have at a restaurant that I fondly remember being so good in the past. I will definitely be in no hurry to go back.
What an absolutely cool place to visit. Some local friends brought me here when I was visiting over the weekend. I didn't get to check out the place as much as I would have liked, but I can already tell you, next time I'm in town, I'm gonna be stopping by. Everything about this place was really neat, from the walls filled with stuff from artists who have played there, the local newspapers of historical events, to the themed menu items. You're definitely going to want to come back, not only for the great food, but to see all the rest of the cool stuff you probably missed. I had the Prince tenderloin, with the onion pedals, and it was fantastic!
Ordered delivery because I had a craving for some fried okra and it was delicious! Beer cheese was also delicious! They even through in a free chip and salsa for ordering locally. I will definitely be back to try more!
