Z's Catfish - Rockwall

Simply the Best Catfish and Southern Louisiana Cooking in the Lake Ray Hubbard area! Best catfish I've ever had. Was pricey though. They charged $2 for a bottled water. Dining area is closed as of December 2021

My only suggestion for improvement, which I believe could easily be implemented, is regarding the tartar sauce. Since this is primarily a catfish restaurant, it would be much better to offer homemade tartar sauce instead of those packets. You could provide a standard 1-ounce portion and charge for any extras to cover your costs. Additionally, having variations like a spicy sauce alongside the regular would be a nice touch. I've been to many catfish restaurants, and believe me, it really makes a difference.

I had an excellent experience with the catfish—it didn't have a fishy taste at all! The hush puppies and banana pudding were also delightful. I tried the mac and cheese, and it was incredibly tasty as well! The restaurant is located at the corner of the shopping center right off 205/Goliad. They offer other dessert options, so be sure to check their Facebook page for updates! They also provide catering services and have a food truck available for events. I truly believe this is the best catfish I’ve ever had!

Absolutely some of the best catfish I've ever had, and it’s worth every penny! The owner, along with her mother and staff, are incredibly friendly and kind. Everything is made to order. Even my daughter, who isn’t a fan of fish, couldn't get enough of the catfish! The banana pudding was a big hit too.
