Bidra med feedbackI have driven past this pub on my way to Echuca many times and always admired the building. I had always thought that one day I would stop there for a meal. This past Queens Birthday long weekend, my family and I finally decided to have lunch at The Shamrock. We were initially impressed with the menu, so we decided to stay. My wife ordered the pork spareribs and I chose the goat Korma, both of which sounded delicious. However, to my disappointment, my meal arrived cold. The only thing on my plate that was warm was the chips. My wife's meal was also not what she had ordered - she asked for spareribs with salad but received veggies instead. They took my meal back to reheat it and brought it back out. My wife decided to just stick with what she had, but as we ate, she was mostly discarding fat and gristle from her ribs. As for my goat dish, there was an excessive amount of fat on it, making it seem more like pork. Overall, it was a meal to be avoided. I'm sure that next time I pass through Rochester, I will steer clear of The Shamrock Hotel and opt for a meal at the cafe up the road instead.
