After searching for so many places for cassoulet, perhaps my boyfriend and I had expectations too high when we came to La Cave au Cassoulet.
We happened upon this place while visiting Penne, and it was a happy find. Our family of seven had a wonderful lunch of various quiches, salads and charcuterie. Everything was fresh and well-made. Their ice cream and blueberry tart were excellent also. In addition, we had a lovely view of the countryside while dining. They have an ice cream shop adjacent to the restaurant.
