That being said, it was very comfortable. The suite was very spacious for our party of six. We had two queen beds and a sofa that fit two persons. The bathroom was outdoors and it was very pretty and easy to manage. The restaurant was average and it had tourist prices—plates were around $20. However, the beach right in front of the hotel was amazing. It was almost as good as Bahía de las Aguilas. The hotel was well decorated and had many places to lay down and chill with beautiful views. I would highly recommend Eco Del Mar to anyone. It’s a great place to stay if you’re wanting to go to Bahía de las Aguilas and are looking to stay somewhere because it’s only a 10 minute boat ride from it. For an extra fee, the hotel provided the boat ride that picked us up right at the hotel’s beach.
They gave us the wrong tent and the bed was dirty filled with blood. We demanded a refund but they refused to even compensate us. Unacceptable.
Wow, what an experience! The prices have doubled in the last 2 years though. The tents are much nicer than before. Mi ventilation in them so your tent will be unbearable during the day and still warm at night. Service throughout the place is very friendly. Outdoor personal shower really made this stay worth it for me. Such an experience to be out in nature and off the grid. When I return, I will not do the 6,000 peso $110 USD) per group for the 5 minute boat ride to the private beach area. It was something to see once, but isn’t worth the 5,300 peso price increase from 2 years ago. Make sure you’re super generous with SPF 70 and don’t stay in the sun too long. You will be burnt and uncomfortable. I’d recommend 2-3 days max here. 1 day is too short for the long drive to get here. Note: if you aren’t aware, there is an 18% tax for credit cards on the subtotal for any place in Dominican Republic. So I’d recommend paying in cash if you’re there for a few days.
This is great for those who like to camp without all of the complications of planning aka glamping . The tents were great and heavy duty. Our tent had a fan with an outlet which made it nice for keeping all our electronics charged. They had bonfires on the beach each night we were there and the bathrooms were clean and accessible. The water was cold and very slightly salty so keep this in mind when showering. It was also very convenient to have a restaurant right next to our campsite. It is very import to bring bug spray. This was the biggest down side to this place but they did not seem to bother us inside the tent. Over all a great experience for those who like camping or adventure and something a bit more different than the normal hotel or Airbnb experience.
Great experience in the hotel with a kind staff and good and comfortable rooms. It's not about luxury but about a great experience in a paradise beach. Important to notice: there is no warm water.
