Joes - Montville Twp

We went to the Rathskeller (formerly Pellegrino's Restaurant Lounge) for an evening with Uncle Floyd and Joe Colucci. The entertainment, as always, was outstanding. The two of them together, along with their assembled guest stars, always manage to wow the crowd. Tonight was no exception. The place was packed, standing room only and sadly the service suffered as a result.First off, the menu. A special menu was created for the event and the fee was $40 per person. The menu choices were extremely limited and apparently no substitutions were available (at least that is what my server told me).We were seated relatively quickly and we had very good seats, very close to the stage area where Floyd would be sitting. It took approximately thirty minutes after being seated for the waiter to come by and take our drink order. It took another fifteen minutes for us to receive our menus and our drinks. At this point, I asked for bread. The waiter disappeared and failed to return for another thirty minutes at which point, he took our orders. I again asked for bread and was told he would have it for me right away. Another thirty minutes went by, we received our appetizers and shortly thereafter, our bread. My drink was empty, yet he failed to ask if I wanted a refill. My friend's order came with calamari and mine came with the bruschetta. The bruschetta was excellent, the calamari, cold. Thirty minutes later, we had had enough. Similar to many of the other patrons, we cut our losses and made for the exit.Come Hell or high water, I will never visit that establishment again. I wish I could give it a lower review, but one is the lowest option.I raised the feedback from 1 star to 5 star because I have had the opportunity since the previous experience to go there and everything was the direct opposite. I chalk my previous experience to having too many customers in the restaurant not enough people working that night.
