Bidra med feedbackCame here for lunch on a random Wednesday at 1pm. The place was empty with plenty of seatings. Decor was standard and nothing to rave about. But the food, that's def something to rave about. We ordered egg rolls, shrimp rolls, bbq rolls and scallop dumplings. The egg rolls were different than what I'm used to; it's a bit mushy on the inside. The bbq rolls and the shrimp rolls were probably one of the best I have had. This in part was due to the texture of the rice rolls; it was smooth and silky. The scallop dumplings were small but tasty.
The restaurant is located in a fairly large plaza with plenty of parking. I would recommend going earlier to avoid having to wait as it can get busy.We went on a Saturday morning around 12 and had to wait around 10-15 minutes. You order through scanning a QR code and then food came out very fast. Quality of food was immaculate. Reminds me of the days I was back in China. Loud, busy, and bustling. Exactly the makings of a traditional Chinese restaurant. Would come back to heal my soul.
Flew in from Texas n was hungry for authentic har gow n siu mai. This is the spot!!! The pork buns were really tasty too.Friendly staff. Basic but nice interior. Very fast service n they even gave us a huge ice tea to go.Prices were surprisingly inexpensive for the areaParking: Huge parking lot in the strip mallKid-friendliness: Several family were dining with children
Pricey with questionable service, the food is solid, and don 't order the milk tea. Detailed breakdown below: Service, 3/5 Food comes out pretty quickly, but the staff are difficult to get a hold of for minor requests because they 'll actively avoid eye contact with you even when you call for them or try to wave. It took forever to flag someone down to let them know they had mistakenly given us a dish we didn 't order. There 's no soy sauce at the table and when we got our dumplings and I asked Do you have soy sauce?, the woman said yes then left and never came back with any. I guess it was my fault for not explicitly asking Can I have soy sauce? even though the former question heavily implies it LOL. It took us another few minutes to track someone down for some. Price portion, 2.5/5 The cheung fun is definitely the most expensive I 've ever had at about $9/roll. Plus tax and tip, that takes you to about $12/roll. Pricey when there are high quality alternatives all throughout the South Bay. Presentation, 5/5 Gorgeous plates! The black and gold buns are especially stunning. Taste, 4/5 Shrimp and veggie cheung fun and dough stick cheung fun, 5/5. Silky noodles are perfectly complimented by the sauce and siracha! And the dough stick stayed surprisingly crispy. Fish congee, 5/5: This was maybe my favorite dish of the meal. The porridge is thick and flavorful, and the savoriness is cut by the fresh cilantro and ginger. The fish itself is super tender and flakey. Veggie cheung fun, 2/5: Wasn 't a fan of this one. The fillings (lettuce, another green, corn, and woodear mushroom) are super loose so it 's messy to eat. All the ingredients are also quite bland and don 't have a cohesive flavor. Shrimp dumplings/har gow, 4/5: Solid! But I would 've preferred a slightly thicker and softer wrapper. HK milk tea, 3/5: Not terrible, but not as creamy as I would 've liked and a bit bitter. Wouldn 't order again. Fried mantou buns, 5/5: A great dessert perfectly crispy buns that you drench yourself in the candy like condensed milk. Other notes Parking in this plaza is terrible. Be careful with your cars and be prepared to park further away to avoid the super narrow spaces and the people who shamelessly park in two spots.
The Chang Fen is very delicious!! I like BBQ pork and egg Chang Fen! Also the Porridge with Chinese fri donuts is my FAVORITE. (Chinese:环境卫生非常好 下次再来 服务态度很好!)
