Parish Grocery - Memphis

We came with a large group and tried several sandwiches and sides. The shrimp poboy, catfish poboy, and mufaletta sandwiches were fantastic. All of the sides including gumbo, red beans and rice, and the greens were well seasoned and quickly disappeared, but the cabbage was the surprise hit and a must have.

Rustic venue serving cajun/New Orleans style sandwiches. It's a small place with limited space. You order at the front of the restaurant and pay there. Then they bring your food to your table. Not a dinner or a date kind of place, but it's pretty good for lunch.The prices are kind of high and the pricey sandwiches don't include chips.I had an oyster poboy. The bread was excellent, unlike some of the other places which serve poboys on bread which will pull your teeth out.

Wow!! If you love New Orleans you have to try our local Parish Grocery in Cooper-Young. The muffuletta was sooo good and the daiquiris and snow balls were perfect, especially on a hot day. The weather was perfect for sitting on their front porch and enjoying the breeze.

Poboy and Mac and cheese didn’t disappoint. Fried green tomatoes served piping hot but very salty. Got a frozen hurricane, somehow it tasted medicinal like a penicillin cocktail nowhere near any other hurricanes I’ve had before… not recommended. Love the ambiance but food left a bit to be desired

Having gone to college in New Orleans, I definitely wanted to check this spot to see if it truly captures the tastes of the Crescent City! I must say it was indeed a delight! The menu is pretty extensive and there are so many more items that I want to try when I return. They advertise “Boozy Snoballs” and that’s now at the top of my list for my next visit. They were out of bread pudding due to the Cooper Young Festival happening the day before I visited so that’s now number two on my list to try. Can’t wait to go back.
