Bidra med feedbackAlthough the chef and the hostess had the best intentions, our recent experience, which was at the point of being the Sunday brunch, was extremely disappointing. first we had to wait an hour for the service! we stayed 1 hour at the table with only water. I had guests with the intention to be a big farewell. we arrived at 1:36, which later than our 1:15 clock reservations, but the restaurant had only a few guests. every order of tee took in east 15 minutes and it was served without sugar, already mixed. the female waitress seemed to speak fear and would hear our commands and go, never back until we stopped them. twice I had to go to the kitchen and my hospitable to find out what was going on. Note that the sisters offered a discount for the meal by establishing that the kitchen was closed when we arrived. the closing time was about three o'clock and if that were the case, they should have said that, we would have run away and be willing to try again. it was a wonderful location and ambiente, but terrible service and good under par food. the omelet was really just a touch. they ran out of cookies (not say) and just brought us white bread! really for brunch. no buffet because they had not enough reservations. should they not have said this at the beginning so that we can exercise our options? the garnel and grooms were perfect, but our guests did not enjoy their meal. they did not get all the items they ordered. we had lated the whole day for this food and instead would offer a little less than a diner. they told us they were from italia recently and began in the fairytale this business. our suggestion is to emphasize 3 dinge...improve food, improve the menu, and certainly at least train the new female waitress to visit her customers and show some personality. with other words customer service!
The food was very good. It’s one of the best patios Decyde out on a eat dinner in the city. You should give it a try. I had the lamb and it was fabulous.
My second time visiting G.Alston’s. Always pleasantly surprised.
Waiter was amazingly incompetent as he was ignorant of the menu without his I-pad. To be the “fine dining” restaurant that you aspire to be, the wait staff needs to know the menu inside out. Front of house staff seemed to lack even the most basic training, as the bartender lacked the knowledge of how to make a classic cocktail as a Manhattan. Where were the cherries? Food was poorly cooked and portions did not justify the price point. Needless to say, I won’t be returning.
Thought there would be a menu as posted on the restaurant’s website but it was actually a buffet with a set price only. The food was good and so were the sangrias! The service was fairly slow considering it was only for drinks and to collect empty plates.
