Bidra med feedbackGreat place for fried walleye and appetizers. And, a great place to have a cold beer after a long day at work or working around the house. The walleye was all you can eat and I shouldn't have gone back for more. They do not cheat you on the portions and it was more than I should've eaten. Left there plenty full, and ready for bed. Next time I'm trying the prime rib.
My husband and I went here with our four small children. The waitress seemed happy to serve us. She was very kind and knew the menu well. We ordered 3 kids meals for the the kids that would be eating (the youngest is still eating milk) and we both got the all you can eat walleye. The kids meals had so much food they could have split one meal. The pulled pork was outstanding!! The walleye was amazing. We also got Cole slaw, steak fries, baked potatoes and onion rings. The baked potatoes weren't great but literally everything else was so good! We've lived in Waverly for a couple years now and we're wondering now why we've never gone here before. It was so so good! Service was excellent too! We'll definitely be back.
We had the chance to revisit Whiskey River BBQ today and are pleased to update our previous review, as our experience has greatly improved. The restaurant is now non-smoking, which made it much more comfortable for us, especially considering our asthma and lung issues. The food was delicious, and our server was incredibly friendly, providing excellent service. We will definitely return!
The service was excellent, with prompt attention and quick food delivery. There are three barbecue sauce options available, and we combined them all for a tasty mix. The pulled pork in the Moo Oink dish was moist and flavorful, while the brisket was a bit on the dry side, though still enjoyable. The French onion soup was packed with flavor. The portion sizes are generous. While this isn't the best meal I've ever had, it was certainly a good choice for a quick bite. Just a heads up: there’s a sign at the entrance stating a 4% fee for credit card use, so be prepared for that. The decor is somewhat dated, and the restaurant seemed to attract many locals.
We celebrated Father's Day for Jim Syra today at Whiskey River BBQ, and it was fantastic! The all-you-can-eat fish was excellent; my brothers each devoured two or three plates! I'll definitely be getting that next time. Our waitress was amazing; she was working incredibly hard all around the restaurant. The total was under $50 with a tip, which was great. Overall, it turned out to be a wonderful day. Joshua covered the bill, and it was nice for my brothers to spend time with Dad. The grandkids also enjoyed seeing each other, and we all had a great time with delicious food!
