They do other steaks and meats as well, and they are all cooked on a wood and charcoal grill inside the restaurant. It can get a bit warm in there by the end of the evening if the place is busy, which it usually is so you need to book a table. The service is excellent as is the selection of wines.
We were a group of 3 so chose the Beef fondue as Kiki's is famous for the quality of their beef. We had a table near the fire (recommended) so we were in the centre of the atmosphere. The Beef Fondue, was excellent quality Beef Fillet. It came with sauces and French fries or Gratin potatoes) . At 39.90 person the price is not cheap but the food was ample for all of us , and excellent quality. We had one dessert just to taste. A really excellent apple dessert of the day at 9.50e I think. The charcuteries as starters were complimentary ! A lovely touch ! Sharing a bottle of red your bill would probably be about 50 euros per person..but for a full 3 course meal if you could handle it then expect about 50euros - 60euros per person wine. This is a fabulous steak restaurant for a special occasion. Service was excellent as was the atmosphere created by the log fire where David the chef (boss) does his open fire cooking. I would recommend booking a table near the fire if possible to get the best from this famous restaurant. Kiki himself has now retired (he must be heading for 90)! but David has been the main chef hidden away in the kitchen anyway for many years! All in all this is a great place for that special night out if you can allow probably 60 -100 euros per adult depending on your choices. We booked for 7pm but there is no rush for your table so you can enjoy the whole evening here. Book early as it often gets 100% full ! Persnally I would choose about 7pm and then just take your time over a long meal and soak up the famous atmosphere.
Great concept of steaks cooked on an open fire. Cooked really well too. Good atmosphere but as with most places around Meribel it's expensive. Worth the walk up or down the hill though
Highly recommend the steak which is cooked on view in the middle of the restaurant on open coals. Would highly recommend this restaurant for the night your chalets hosts have off.
Booked to eat here to replicate a restaurant we LOVED in Val D'isere a few years ago, it was our anniversary so happy to splash out a little. We skipped starters as the beef rib is pretty big, it was good right by us on the open fire and very tasty and cooked exactly how we asked! The dauphinoise potatoes were amazing, as were the salted caramel profiteroles! We had very good service and weren't rushed out - we'll be back next time we are in Meribel :-)
