Bidra med feedbackOne of the worst dining experiences we ever had. The waiter was surly and not knowledgeable at all. He did not even know what beef sirloin was. The menu was kind of strange and limited. The maitr’d tried to put us in the back room with with families and children and then was very rude when we asked to eat in the main dining room. This is in a supposedly a high end restaurant where the meal is between $200-$300 per couple.DO NOT PATRONIZE!
Mani served us the new 9 course meal with wine pairing. It was truly one of the most amazing meals I've had. The experience and detail is impressive to say the least. Thank you for taking care of us Mani!
I’ve never been made to feel so awkward nor have I been treated with such condescension and disrespect in my entire life. Today I had to walk out of a restaurant for the first time, and had an evening of my vacation absolutely ruined.I am an Emergency Physician. I deal with all kinds. I am patient, understanding, and I generally consider myself an intelligent, cultured person as is my husband . We are some of the kindest people you will ever meet— especially to waitstaff, as most are generally underpaid and poorly treated by patrons. We live in Dallas, we spend much of our time at upscale restaurants, so hear me when I say— I will NEVER be back to this place, nor can I recommend it.Overall the food was ok, though none of the food I had was outstanding or realistically worth the price. That being said, the way we were treated could have skewed my view a touch…For some context—my husband had a surgery recently where, to cover scars, he has to wear a hat in public while he is healing. He is very self-conscious about the need to wear a hat in public, but he is mindful of dressing appropriately and wearing classy hats not baseball hats/flat-billed hats which would be considered much more casual .When we came in we were quickly greeted and seated. The waiter came for our order, and I initially asked for recommendations on the menu from the waiter as I usually do at restaurants . I felt awkward and was a little irritated when he acted offended and arrogantly said “Oh, we removed all of the bad items from the menu a few years ago, everything is good. You should go with your gut” as if I were blatantly trying to disparage the menu selections. He quickly walked away from our table without allowing us to order and tended to another table with a family all wearing tee shirts, I might add . We were very confused about this odd interaction, but waited for him to come back about 15 minutes . We considered leaving at that point, but 45 minutes after our arrival we were finally able to put in our order. We ordered from the prix fixe menu $145/person .Our first dish came. Everything was fine until we were approached by a different waiter and my husband was asked to remove his hat. My husband, very embarrassed, simply said “I can’t do that”, as I jumped in and told the waiter that my husband recently had a surgery and would be unable to do so more information than I was honestly willing to share with a complete stranger on my vacation, but regardless… . Meanwhile, a family of 4 directly behind us all wearing tee shirts were still being graciously attended. Our next dish came, it was the Bison. It was suggested rare to med-rare. My husband asked for med-rare. When it arrived it was medium well. To be clear— generally we DO NOT care about this type of thing we are just not that kind of patron , but given how we were treated my husband mentioned something about it. The waiter argued with him and said “that’s not even close to medium-well,” but I can bring you another if you like. My husband said no thank you. After this interaction I felt so uncomfortable that I was no longer hungry and was ready to leave. I walked out of the restaurant in tears and left my husband to get our dessert in a box and pay for the meal. The waiter actually REFUSED to give us both of our desserts to go. He boxed my husband’s dessert, but refused to box mine citing that it was “inappropriate to box to-go”. My husband requested that they simply compensate us for the dessert. They refused this as well. We ended up forced to cut the tip to compensate for the $40 value dessert we did not receive. In summary, we should have listened to the prior reviews about this place. Snobby, rude staff, acceptable food. I was absolutely horrified at this experience, and I hope you will take my warning and spend your money elsewhere.
Cute and quaint dining room. Dishes were very good and all Canada-sourced ingredients. They were equipped with the largest wine list in Canada, with over 2000 options at a range of prices. We were very impressed and overwhelmed, but the knowledgeable sommelier helped us choose a good bottle that we enjoyed. The lobster roll was delicious but used a little too much bread and was more filling than we would have liked it. The pheasant was slightly overcooked, however the bison was phenomenal, cooked perfectly with a wonderful sauce and a variety of carrots that tied it together nicely. The trout was some of the best we have had. All the dishes were a work of art, and looked stunning. The ahi tuna came with an amazing tart passion fruit sauce that went very well with it. Our waiter, Luke, was professional, charming, and helpful with suggestions on what to choose. I wish we had the time to put on some nicer clothes before hand, but we were running late. Overall a wonderful upper class dining experience, and would recommend. We hope to be back soon.
Wow! Service was top notch. Best we’ve ever had anywhere. Attentive and delightful waiter, sommeliers, and staff. Our dishes were fabulous every one of them. Complex and beautifully plated. We were celebrating our 24th wedding anniversary and had our teenagers with us. Everyone was made to feel special. Worth the splurge. Will return on our next visit to Lake Louise. A rare gem.
