Bidra med feedbackThis was one of our favourite meals on the trip. Service was amazing. Asher our waiter was excellent. Pretzel bread with whipped butter (save some to dip in the fondue). We got the half fondue and it was plenty for two people to share. The schnitzel was super crispy and huge. Halibut was cooked with a nice crust but a little small on the sides. The chocolate fondue for dessert was amazing and the home made marshmallows was my favourite part. It was expensive but worth the experience and the view of the lake.
If you’re dining with a partner and want to indulge in their cheese fondue, I highly recommend the prix fixe menu. I noticed another table ordering the meat fondue, which looked decent, but it didn’t compare to the cheese fondue included in the fixed menu. The cheese fondue portion for two is quite generous, as you share one pot, and it's definitely enough! It’s worth noting that the cheese base remains the same regardless of the fondue option you choose; the only difference is the garnish. So if you opt for the truffle version, you’re mainly paying a bit more for some truffle shavings. Our server was incredibly friendly, giving us a few extra pretzel rolls and suggesting we dip them in the cheese, which was a fantastic recommendation. Dipping the fluffy pretzel rolls into the gooey cheese was simply divine! By the time we finished the fondue, my wife and I were already feeling quite full. The tenderloin steak that followed was cooked perfectly to our taste and packed with flavor. They also provided a large bowl of vegetables to share, which was a lovely touch to keep the meal a bit lighter! For dessert, we shared the chocolate fondue (which is enough for two) and chose dark chocolate, reasoning that what we dipped would already be sweet. That was a great decision! We received a lovely assortment of small cakes, strawberries, and my wife’s favorite—homemade marshmallows. Overall, our experience was enjoyable and delicious! The fixed menu was around $95 per person, but considering the amount of food and the overall experience, I felt it was well worth it. Cheers!
We were fortunate to secure a table by the large window with a beautiful view of the lake. The concierge assisted us in making our dinner reservation during check-in. Our waiter delivered outstanding service. While I'm not an expert in German or Swiss cuisine, I can confidently say that the fondue and schnitzel were the best I've had in Canada. Overall, it was a fantastic dining experience. I'm really glad we chose to try Walliser Stube.
We really had a great experience here despite the restaurant trying to bump us off of their reservation list without telling us our waiter, Asher, really blew our minds so professional and friendly, so attentive. The restaurant should be proud to employ him. Two of our party had the three course special, and the rest of the party had the salmon appetizer (meh), the elk carpaccio (excellent), and the chicken (excellent so flavorful). Best fondue I've ever had, such a nice balance of the right flavors.
Walliser Stube offers an exceptional dining experience rooted in the historic Swiss mountaineering heritage of the Rocky Mountains! To start, the staff graciously accommodated my request to move to the library, where I enjoyed stunning views with my meal. They went above and beyond to celebrate my birthday, which made the occasion even more special. While I'm sure all the dishes are fantastic, I highly recommend trying the traditional ones — the käsespätzle is absolutely divine, and the specialty chocolate fondue comes with exquisite financiers and homemade marshmallows! If you're short on time, don't miss out on a cocktail and the chocolate fondue. I also look forward to trying the cheese fondue on my next visit; I can only imagine how wonderful it is. This is the Rocky Mountain culture I sought after. Thank you, Walliser Stube, for your incredible hospitality — truly world-class!
