Bidra med feedbackOur second stay in le sucks, this time for 3 nights. quite rough in the trees just above montchavin, easily accessible via the sessellift. close to vanoise express, which connects les arcs la plagne resorts. beautiful old rustic atmosphere with log fires... it is very busy for lunch. large eating, usually traditional savoyard recipes. the rooms are comfortable with private bathroom. playroom, sauna, whirlpool. patricia gerard is very welcoming. really a home from home. many thanks. to next year.
I know La Plagne and Les Arcs close by provide endless piste bashing, but the Montchavin/Les Coches valley has much more memorable, wonderful runs through the trees and offers this terrific restaurant. Best to book, but we managed to get a late table and were...very happy with whatever they felt like providing. I plumped for the 'surprise salad ' at 12.50 euro and was happily surprised with the crute with melted cheese, jambon lots of green leaves and that wonderful dressing the French do so well. All washed down with a glass of red wine excellent last lunch on the slopes. Service is delightful and it 's well worth bothering to find your way there.
Best ski in ski out place in France . Great for long lunch or stay in lovely well looked after rooms Hosts are the bestb
We stopped in here to rest our legs after a long day skiing. We only wanted a drink and were shown to lovely big couches near a big open fire. I had a fantastic mulled wine. When the food arrived for the table behind us...we were very envious of it, it smelled delicious. Worth walking slightly off piste for.
The place looks lovely, but.... Four of us arrived for lunch, and first of all met a French friend on the terrace. She said that the people there were 'odd ' and had been rude to her and her partner both French). Thinking nothing of it...we entered, decided to eat inside, and as the restaurant was less than a quarter full sat down at a table for six 'tho we were four). An elderly lady approached and barked move to a table for four . We pointed out that they were virtually empty, and there was room at the table for six for our helmets, goggles, gloves etc. and we pointed to three other tables for four right by us waiting empty, and there were others around the corner. She picked up a container, placed our kit in that, saying This is where you put your stuff , and walked off. We stayed at the table and waited to see if she would return for our order. She did not. So we got up to leave, at which she appeared to say You are very disagreeable English . On the way out our French friend was still there who confirmed that they had been rudely treated too. I believe that the current people running it are new this year 2016). Whether they have watched too much Fawlty Towers, or had won the lottery the night before and decided to insult all-comers and then sell-up, I do not know. But they certainly do not want to build a clientele and a reputation.
