Gaya Vegetarian - Kota Kinabalu

Great place. After we declare that we are vegans they recommended all the dishes we can eat. Everybody tasted great. My favourite was empty pepper lamb (soya mushroom base). Best vegan in Malaysia so far.

Many cheap and delicious vegan options. Fresh coconuts and juice. Friendly employees who understood the vegan concept. Big portions.

This newly opened vegetarian restaurant when I visited KK city. I didn't try the food, but I went in to check the place. The surroundings are quite cozy. Besides ala carte menu that I managed to grab, there are articles at bain marie. There is also a small corner selling something, but I didn't check it out. I just thought I could write my first comment because I asked to share this new restaurant the menus I grabbed. So you rate this food 3 stars as I never tried the food. Visited this vegetarian restaurant and glad to know that they understand vegan very well. Note that milk is used in curry, tom yum dishes, so make sure you ask them to exclude the milk for these dishes. The overall service is fine, except for the one time I was served by a very rude lady.

We ordered veggie lamb curry, veggie pork sweet and sour, and two cups of tea, costing about £4/€5. Both dishes were tasty, not sure whether the sweet and sour had msg. Service was fine, food came quickly. It's vegetarian not vegan so you have to be careful. Not much soul but we'd come back if in the neighbourhood.
