Chiu's The Modern Local - Kota Kinabalu

My second visit here and I really like this place. One of the best coffees I’ve had in K.K. Food and prices and service are very good and I will definitely be returning . The only suggestion I might offer is that the decor is very plain so maybe a little brightening up and maybe some background music would improve the ambiance. Also a larger sign out front would make it easier to find and more welcoming. I’ll be back soon.

Treated to the most authentic Malay food I’ve ever had! An exceptional spread of satisfying fish, chicken, beef… every single dish we had was off the scale. Looking forward to another trip to see Chiu soon.

Simple place with good Rib Eye Steak and mushroom soup. Parking here can be a challenge during lunch time.......after lunch just take a walk for ice cream......

Foods and drinks taste good, price is about 20-30 per pax. Recommend the flat white, matcha espresso, beef rice bowl with medium rare, sweet potato fries and queen of hearts waffle

Had a lovely afternoon at the restaurant, a nice place to come in for coffee or a late lunch. The food portions are quite generous and matches the pricing, and definitely insta-worthy. Drop in on weekdays from 11am to 3pm and you get to add a drink (iced lemon tea, jasmine tea or Earl Grey) at RM1 when you order a main meal. The food pricing in the restaurant is the same as the published price in the Grab app. I loved the food, they were just as delicious as they look. I will definitely come by again.
