La Villa - Howard Beach

The bus boy didn?t walk us to a table, and he just pointed to a table across the area outside (since we requested to be seated outside). The man who took our order didn?t introduce himself. We specifically asked for calamari arabiata, but we were served the fried calamari. When we asked about the deep dish zucchini pizza, this unnamed guy said the small is too small to share; so, we ordered a large one. Come to find out we were served 8 sicilian zucchini deep dish slices.

La Villa has some of the best tasting pizza, small selection of nice toppings along with traditional toppings such as pepperoni. They use a wood burning oven which cannot be beat as far as Great tasting pizza goes! Excellent jumbo sized wraps with fresh mozzarella, grape tomatoes, greens and house made dressings, fresh pasta, baked clams, calamari etc. I've been eating there for many years and the food quality is consistent. The experience was above my expectations. My family and I decided to dine in (we usually get pizza to go) and we ordered appetizers, pizza, pasta, and salad. You can tell that everything was made fresh to order. Their pasta sauce is a hit for me. It definitely is seasoned well and is one of the best I?ve tasted. I?m sure they make it themselves. Not the worst and not the best grandma skice pizza, but good. Service was just okay. The lead person or host wasn't warm but he gave us very basic hospitality. However, our waiter was wonderful. Unfortunately she was responsible for waiting on both inside and outside customers. They needed another waiter not fair to her. Pizza was good. The sauce was good, the cheese was alright. The wood cooked dough was great. Pepperoni could of been more flavorful. Customer service was great. Indoor and outdoor tables were clean. The ambiance gives you cozy feeling. They?re in a shopping mall so parking can feel crazy at times. This pizza is worth a first time trip and maybe a second if you?re near by. Would I take a 1hr ride to try this pizza. Absolutely not. Nothing special but it is a great pizza
