Bidra med feedbackSimple dishes with great texture and flavor, loved the Garlicky Bok Choy (nice and crispy) and the five spice pork.
The congee bowl gives me so much life after a long night out.
This place is located in the new dining room on jackson ave, jacx co. the food was really delicious. I disguised the haw with cracked oil and maple tofu and long bores as sides. the chicken was moist, tender and fell from the bone. the cracked oil was delicious. the mapo tofu was good, not excessively spicy. and the long bores were also good. when I had to compare with traditional Chinese food from Chinatown, this place tastes healthier. there is a difference in the type of ingredients used, but this is naturally reflected in the price.
I've ordered from here several times now through Doordash. In my last order last week, I found a piece of what looks like dental floss in my food, which was really gross. I don't know what it was. I emailed the business to let them know. It's been almost a week, and they have not responded or acknowledged my email, which is shocking. The food is also inconsistent. The first time I ordered the mapo tofu, it was so bland and flavorless, like the spices had just been cooked with the tofu for 3 minutes. The second and third time, the mapo tofu was pretty good. Still not as flavorful as I'm used to, but better than the first time. The first time I ordered, they gave me a generous portion of rice, and the salmon was fresh. The second and third time, the rice they gave me was so small in portion, the char siu pork was dry and tough, and the red braised beef too tough and full of gristle.
Just because this place labels itself as healthy doesn't mean that every bite isn't freaking delicious. I ordered the make-your-own bowl with pork, eggplant, and mushrooms, along with the congee dish and both were SPECTACULAR. They offer many options for customization, and the overall pricing for quality is superb (read: you get a lot of bang for every buck).
