Taj Palace Authentic Restaurant

The food here is among some of the best i have had since coming to Aus. And Harry is such an obliging host

Before I'd even tried the food I got put off by being given a half-hour waiting time and then having to wait in the cramped and ugly takeaway room an extra

Despite the unappealing decor, our food (variety of meat and vegetable dishes) was all very tasty and cooked well.

After being around Hobart for the day my wife and I decided to have Indian for dinner. We popped in to Taj palace on the way back to our room. The place was empty and we should have taken that as a hint. We ordered our food and the garlic nan appeared within five minutes with no other food. About five minutes later my main arrived with rice but my wife’s was no where to be seen. The portion size was bigger than normal and it tasted ok but the service was not attentive and the old guy appeared to be more interested in reading the newspaper and looking at his phone let alone seeing if things were ok for customers I finished my dinner and my wife’s food still hadn’t arrived so we decided to leave. We told him that her food hadn’t arrived after minutes and that we were leaving. He managed to get her food and we took it as a takeaway

How has this place got stars ? They must put their own reviews in. I dont get it !!!!I have never been in such a filthy dirty restaurant. How has it not been shut down?The floor is filthy , the chairs were sticky the walls were even dirty. Fans dirty. I cleaned my cutlery and glass with a napkin.The menus were even sticky
