Annapurna - Hobart

I enjoyed my meal here as the service was on point and the food was very tasty. I was able to order any dish with my preferred spice level and it was true to form. Yummy curry dishes include rice and condiments. I recommend the vegetable pakora, three big cakes of fried veggies with a nice flavour. Both the naan and roti are delicious. They come with garlic, spinach, mushrooms, cheese or plain. There is a wide variety of dishes and a good ambiance for groups, couples or solo dining. I would recommend eating here or getting takeaway as the prices are slightly lower but still on par with other tourist spots nearby.

There's a lot of Indian places on Hobart, but this one has been here as long as I can remember- and for good reason. The service is prompt and the menu has more than just butter chicken (although, the butter chicken is darn good). The meals come out in good time and the prices are great. Probably the best Indian restaurant in Hobart!

We went to eat dinner here last night and I have to admit the service at Annapurna was horrible. The wait staff forgot we were in the restaurant several times. They did not take our order for 20+ minutes and then when we had realized no one had taken our order, we caught their attention and they took our order. Then when it was time to bring our food out, they brought over part of our food and then by the time the rice came and naan came, the other food became cold. Their food in general was ok and it was nothing special. Don't waste your time going there and don't be fooled with the fact that this place is so packed busy. Aussies just love Indian food, more than people do here in the United States, so everyone just goes there giving the illusion that it is good. Also it probably doesn't hurt that it is conveniently located in Salamanca where all the cool restaurants and bars are. I heard from lot of people that Bombay House is much better. But it is a $5-10 cab ride away and we did not get a chance to experience it.

Out of town from Sydney. Called the place first to see if they delivered. Staff was very pleasant and helpful. Told me that we can order through menulog and have it delivered. Did exactly that. Very quick service. Food was delivered in less than half an hour and very tasty. Very good portions as well. Me and my girl ate it over 2 days. Highly recommend this place.

Totally excellent vegetarian fare, only had to wait a short while for a table despite not having a reservation, on very comfortable couch, at a very reasonable price. The only negative I would have was the amount of rice they served for the curry is not nearly enough for the entire curry, but the portions were large enough that I couldn't have eaten it all anyway.
