It is a small informal place, not a chic decor... the whole attention here is on the food, and it shows. Super high quality sushi and really creative and delicious cooked dishes. Beef negimaki was from this world! The desserts were spectacular, also pecan tart and chocolate tart, both with the creamiest ice cream... just amazing. The waitress was enthusiastic, friendly and attentive. Great experience everywhere. Make a reservation, it is small and it is busy!
Absolutely incredible. The freshest fish outside Japan. Especially! But there's hot food. It's just as droolable. Honestly, my favorite restaurant.
Great restaurant and great staff – especially Mrs.Kama! I suggest the fillet mignon boiled medium rare or the tuna steak that are absolutely delicious. The dessert here is also pretty good.
I have been going to this place for years, as it's my favorite Japanese place around. You can't go wrong when the owner is the sushi chef and his wife is a waitress. The staff is always friendly and I find this place to have the best sushi on the Island. The filet mignon cuts like butter, the miso soup is very flavorful and the pastry dessert with chocolate and caramelized bananas is amazing! A bit pricey but well worth it.
One dish I highly recommend is the veggie and mushroom spring rolls, served with a delicious mango sauce—definitely a must-try! However, I would advise skipping the fried ice cream dessert; it didn't quite match my expectations and tasted quite different from what I envisioned. On a brighter note, chocolate lovers will be in for a treat with their decadent chocolate dessert—it's truly rich and satisfying! The ambiance of the restaurant is lovely, with beautiful mood lighting that creates an intimate atmosphere perfect for couples or small groups (reservations for up to 10 people are recommended). They offer a decent selection of drinks, though the variety is somewhat limited. Although it leans on the pricier side, it’s understandable given the Great Neck location. Overall, I had a pleasant experience and enjoyed the fusion cuisine, but just a reminder—not to be mistaken for a Japanese restaurant!
