Passed this on the way back from the remote 'Valley of the Nuns ' Curral das Freiras. You would miss it if you weren 't looking out for it (in fact we did and had to go back! Tiny place by the side of the road. Fire burning at the side in an open barbeque oven full of glowing embers. We had the skewered meat cooked over this fire with salad and chips. Simple and absolutely delicious. Sat looking out over the road, but very quiet and so atmospheric like you were in another time!

Fantastic food, fantastic views and really friendly. A must stop for lunch. It might not look much but you can't miss this amazing place. The chicken skewers are amazing.

Don’t just drive past this little roadside gem! We stopped and sat outside on a bench and had a fantastic meal! We ordered a beef estepada a small salad and a small chips and of course a Bola de caco. The bread was cooked on the fire and served piping hot to us it was simply the best thing ever! The choirs were old fashioned hand cut like my Nan used to make, the salad was simple but beautifully dressed and so fresh and the beef was brought out on a hug skewer and cooked on the fore it was tender and the most flavoursome meat I’ve ever tried!!!! We had drinks and coffee and our bill was 21€ try it it’s wonderful!!! Be warned the sides are anything but small!!!
