Levena's - Freeport

Lavena's Catch and Cafe is one of the highlights of the Digby Neck area! The food is exceptional, the waitstaff is friendly and attentive, and the chef really knows how to create delicious dishes!

Today was the opening day of the season and after getting off the ferry from Brier Island, we were quite hungry! A recommendation led us to Levena's, which turned out to be an excellent choice. The server was friendly and the entire staff was cheerful and engaging. The food was fantastic, with a fresh garden salad and delicious halibut from the sea. To top it off, the coconut cream pie and rhubarb pie with a perfect crust were the cherry on top. If you happen to be passing through, don't hesitate to give this place a try – you won't regret it!

Before we went on our whale watching excursion, we had lunch here as we were recommend to do so if we were in the area. The best chowder I have ever had, so fresh and delicious. Large portions and prices are excellent. I would recommend eating here to anyone I know going to the Digby neck area.

Lavena's came highly recommended by everyone I talked to on Brier Island, and they were not wrong! I ordered the chowder of the day, which featured sweet scallops and fresh, tender haddock. It came with a homemade biscuit and truly showcased the best of Nova Scotia seafood cuisine. Though the fog obscured much of the view, I can only imagine how spectacular it must be to see the passage on a clear day.
