Northern - Fernie

We came only to have a thirst quenching ale and were able to score the last table on the deck. Great to watch the passing parade of those with much more energy than us. Very good selection of local and BC craft beers (can't remember...exactly the brand but it was from one of the well known Victoria craft breweries). . We were served quickly by a delightful English girl who wished us well. No food this time around but we will save that for another visit to Fernie...what a cute little place.

Ordered pull pork poutine. The menu said it was meant to be waffle fries with cheese bacon coleslaw and pulled pork. I instead received regular fries with bbq sauce gravy and nothing else. I then asked the waiter for another item on the menu...which came mins later, after my party had all paid their bills. We come from out of town and needed to get on the road. I asked for the item to be boxed as it came so late and was given no fork. I asked for a fork and was told by a nasty lady inside that “we don’t do to go cutlery”. I was then charged by the waiter for both items but was given no receipt. Overall experience is best summarized as “WTF”.

Whether you are looking for a quick drink or a full meal, the service at this restaurant is friendly and efficient. The food always impresses, especially the fish and chips. You definitely won't leave hungry! If you enjoy watching sports, there are plenty of TVs to catch all the action. Keep in mind that this place can get crowded on weekend nights, so arrive early, be open to sharing a table, or be ready to wait. But trust me, it's worth it.

Very average food. My kale apple salad was way better then the sandwich I ordered. I had braised beef sandwich and it had almost no taste and au jus was not helping. Restaurant was clearly understaffed and we had had to wait over an hour...for a table, luckily the food arrived quickly after the order.

Cool spot with a great beer list and really good food. Painfully slow wait though. Servers were definitely trying but our food took more than an hour to come out.
