Bidra med feedbackAbsolutely the worst. I enjoy nothing more than eating lukewarm gruel being passed of as gumbo in a paper bowl with half cooked rice, and paying $8 for it. Total rip off. Actually, I think that my wife enjoyed the burnt sausage in the soggy disintegrating bun even more for $7.
This is the best dining experience I've ever had! The atmosphere and service were outstanding. I ordered the gumbo, which was topped with shrimp, crabmeat, and crawfish tails—it was delicious! The only downside was the parking situation. However, I will definitely be back; it’s worth the three-hour drive! Keep up the fantastic work—I can’t wait to see you all again soon!
The gumbo was decent, though not exceptional. Unfortunately, the service was among the worst I've experienced. It took 10 minutes before anyone asked us what we wanted to drink, even though there were only two other tables being served. We weren't offered a refill at any point, despite the owner sitting just five feet away and clearly noticing that there were only 12 diners at two tables. Overall, it was quite disappointing!
This is truly a local gem! The food is fantastic. We tried the shrimp gumbo and the smothered turkey sandwich, and both dishes were outstanding. The decor may be a bit shabby with mismatched tables and chairs, but it somehow adds to the charm of the place. When we visited, they had a talented singer/songwriter, Andrew Duhom, performing on stage, and the venue was bustling with energy. It felt like everyone knew each other, yet they were very welcoming to us as well. If you find yourself in Fairhope, I highly recommend checking this place out.
