Bidra med feedbackI would only visit this place to see a play, as it is just a typical bar and cafe. However, the staff is very friendly and the atmosphere is nice. It was better before the pandemic.
I went to see my son's show Frankenstein and arrived early, so I decided to have a drink. I ordered a hot chocolate and my husband had an Americano. I was served as soon as I approached the bar, and drinks were promptly made. The hot chocolate was delicious, but I noticed that the area where the drinks were prepared was not very clean. I hesitated to say something, but chose not to.
We love the Traverse Theatre, where we have seen many fantastic productions over the years. This year, we decided to have a meal in the bar. Unfortunately, it was quite disappointing. Not only did they mix up our order and serve it piece by piece, but the food itself was of poor quality, with the only exception being the chips. We would have given it a one-star review, but the delicious pint helped offset the disappointing meal.
We arrived at 12.45pm. It was quiet! We were looking for a light lunch. The two soups were excellent and the soup and sandwich deal was very good value. Staff were efficient but do not know what it would be like if it was busy. Servers bring the food to your table and were friendly and interested to know what we thought of the food. We stayed on for coffee. And we'll be back!
Have been an occasional visitor for yearsand have tipped staff generously over 25 years For first time I as declined a coffee. Then declined even to stand waiting to read. The. Times on basis that some function was on. Though plainly no function was. Imminent. I will avoid this cafe bar till stall change from current lot. The. Filmhouse cafe bar which is on opposite side of. Lothian Road is nicer and cheaper. The staff in filmhouse cafe. Are much more pleasant too. . I advise you to give. Trav. Bar a miss for a while till they et a nicer crop of employees !
