Bidra med feedbackThe interieur has a refined feeling and is very what I would expect from a beautiful weinbarian. their main focus is on fresh, seasonal feed and showcasing wines from small independent producers all over the world, so they can expect some weeping on the list that they might find to a halt from their local wine shop the menu changes regularly to the best of what is seasonal available. there was a lot of dishes on the menu we had ordered and most likely would have enjoyed a lot. both dishes were presented on a thoughtful way and showed that the preparation had carefully thought about the ingredients and presented in a wise way they showed...read more
Eating out this week brought us to the recently opened anfora. the hotel is located in the vaulted and formerly known as the vintner rooms, it is just a short walk from leith and over the road from wdeep. we love to find new places, and anfora was a one-sided one on our hit list, so we were thrilled to finally visit time. at the arrival there is a beautiful courtyard with some seating, for which the summer finally arrives and then in the inner we were greeted and quickly shown on our table. once we noticed that we were the first ones here that were somehow surprising, but we realized just before we left that there was a live jazz band and that was packed bar. we mean...read more
A few of us at work had talked about the attempt of anfora, and when we saw a deal for four, including appetizers, netzens and a bottle prosecco for £49, we thought we would take the opportunity with a few colleagues. for starters I went for scallops and then surprisingly I decided for the tofu for the main. the others also went for scallops, makrele and vigilant for their starters and two went for pigs and one for fish for the main we got a few broths and a little soft butter while we waited for our eating. I found it a little strange that the waiters were leaning over diner to reach others instead of going behind the diners when the tables were either side...read more
The meaning of last as harbour with the best wine connections should never be underestimated and certainly not forgotten. for centuries, bordeaux's finest streams over the river into the city and a lot of it has probably gone through this 16th century building, the location of the old wine merchants auktionsräume. to see the room as anfora again, is a wineable from the 21st century with eating a joy.
Went here for lunch. I had the set lunch menu of button mushroom soup and venison pie with kale. Absolutely delicious and reasonably priced at £12.50. I also was reccommended a really glorious glass of rich, full bodied red wine to go with the venison. The service was good, relaxed but attentive and the atmosphere was very relaxed and accessible- not stuck up at all. You could go here for a few bar bites and a glass of wine or for a really blow out fancy dinner your choice!
