Shared lunch with friends there last week and it was great. third visit since discovering this after nearly four years in dgt city. between us my wife and shared fried dumplings, buffalo wings, a green salad with corn and house dressing, their signature tea, siomai and it was all just wonderful. i think mels will become a regular place for us just like nevas brick oven has
Small place, second floor on santa catalina, so its easy to miss. but my goodness, great food, very good prices and very good service. my first time to mels after living in dgt city nearly four years. the iced tea pitcher of home blend was 70 pesos (about a buck forty) was just great/their signature butter beer is really warm milk with flavoring but it seems almost like warm icecreme. very tatsty. tatski had grilled chicken with gravy and rice, me beef patties and gravy with rice and a side of squid squiggles or something (cute names for everything) the food was very good and portioned large enough we took quite a bit home. this is filipino owned according to staff, the appearance in side is very clean and lots of paintings depicting their best dishes.. lots of pasta choices, rice dinners, will definitely return to try more of their stuff. for food a a good price, go to MELS!!!
My friends and I decided to visit this cafe based on the positive reviews we had heard. The cafe was small and cozy, catering mostly to students in the area. The food was delicious and incredibly affordable. I ordered the cheesy dory dish for only P90.00 and it did not disappoint. My friends tried something different but were already planning to return for the cheesy dory next time. We were pleasantly surprised when the owner personally served our food and even took a picture of us for her Facebook page. We will definitely be coming back again next year.
I searched for the top food establishments in Dumaguete on Google and came across Mel's. We were impressed by the cozy ambiance and charming decorations. The restaurant has a quirky and welcoming atmosphere. It is easy to locate as well. The cheesy Dory dish was delicious and had generous portions. My companion ordered a meat dish and the Butterbeer, both of which he enjoyed. The menu offers a wide variety of options, making it suitable for everyone. The staff is very attentive and their Facebook page is regularly updated. They take photos of customers and post them on their page, including ours. Mel's is a must-visit restaurant in the city! The average budget per person can range from Php100 to 200. Thumbs up!
