Royal Taj - Columbia

A beautiful restaurant in Columbia. The interiors are simply gorgeous. With hues of white and gold, a splendid collection of liquor and books adorning their walls and the magnificent chandelier right in the centre make this restaurant certainly Royal . We dined here on a Sunday afternoon for their buffet lunch and this restaurant was packed. We waited for around 10 minutes to get a table. The owner of the restaurant was very warm and courteous. They had a delightful spread consisting of Aloo Tikki, Pakodas, Achari Chicken, Tawa Chicken, Channa Masala, Saag and so much more. I also kept sipping on to the Mango Lassi which was Oh so good . My favourite was their Lamb Vindaloo, this dish was incredibly delicious, bursting with flavors and had a scintillating aroma. I also tried fish (for the first time in my entire life) and I must say for a person who doesn 't eat seafood, I liked it. They had two desserts: Gajar ka Halwa and Rice Kheer and the Halwa clearly stole my heart. My sweet tooth was satiated and I couldn 't have asked for more. By the end of it we were stuffed, but there 's always room for Chai and how could I say No to Chai... We finished off this hearty meal with a piping hot cup of Chai. My only issue was with one of the servers, who was literally standing on top our heads to get done. He 'd come every 5 minutes and disturb us, to check if he could clear the plates. It was quite annoying. (If it wasn 't for this, I would 've given them 5 stars). After ages I felt drowsy post a heavy lunch. Royal Taj exceeded my expectations, and this Desi girl enjoyed every bit of her meal in Videsh.

Nice experience in total. The service can be improved a bit, the food tasted just an average but still prices were affordable so you can give it a shot.

This is one of the few fine dining restaurants with Indian cuisine. The food is delicious, the staff os courteous and humorous and the owner is hospitable. The ambience is perfect for a special occasion or celebration. The reason for not giving it 5 stars is because the portions are small compared to the price. Still highly recommended !

The food as well as the service was amazing. I had the vegan Ali Gobi along with the garlic naan and enjoyed every bite of it. I'm from out of town but plan on coming back again.

Very flavorful food and not afraid of spice. Service is very attentive and friendly. Price is reasonable. Really enjoyed my evening with them.
