Peggy's On The Green - Boerne

My husband and I went last night closer to 9pm due to reservations not being available earlier. The first thing I found to be odd was being sat right next to the kitchen where we could hear staff member in the back yelling at each other and dishes being washed. Meanwhile there were plenty of other more appropriate areas for us to be sat. Then our waitress: while she did look professional and was dressed well. She had unwelcoming body language, tone of voice, and overall it seemed like she had never been asked questions about the food. My husband asked about cocktails and I asked about sweat reds (wine). I love to smell them and take one-two sips on special occasions. The appetizer we received was the quail but it was severely over cooked and over seasoned. My husband had to ask about its whereabouts as it was taking a hot minute for. My husband specifically wanted to try to the lobster mac cheese which was unavailable for some reason. I ordered the regular mac cheese with the 7oz filet (medium-well very little pink) and it was a solid medium not running blood however was not cooked to order. He ordered pork chops which were slightly undercooked but edible so that was disappointing. Overall we had a horrible experience and we hope they improve their methods of cooking, setting, and service to customers quickly. We heard great praises and were left speechless from our night. We just finished lunch with my in-laws and we spent $120.00 on them and had fantastic food and quality of service overall. We should have had a better experience with this restaurant. We spent $170.00 give or take and were disappointed and flabbergasted at the lack of overall quality of the restaurant as a whole.

Excellent service. Billy was phenomenal. Food was exceptional and Peggy’s Margarita was also delicious. Definitely an experience not to be missed. A must see in Boerne.

Service excellent. Wait staff above expectations. Food delicious. In order starting with our fav .. onion soup, green beans, shrimp/grits, crab cakes, biscuits (slightly overcooked but still good). Was surprised that a restaurant was so casual, but had already been told about that. Unusual to see so many men sitting at their table with hats on. And yes, expensive .. but that won't keep us from going back!

10 out of 5 stars! ? Best steak ever! Wonderful crab and also bread pudding. Great service. Noel was the bomb! Suoer professional and knowledgeable. Ignore any of the one-star reviews you may have read (which are very few). They have to have been written by naturally cranky people. We highly recommend Peggy's on the Green.
