Bidra med feedbackNot sure what happened at this restaurant. Went there for the first time in about a year. I ordered Shrimp and Polenta. Wife ordered chicken fried steak. We were served with two shrimp and polentas. Server said sorry and give me three minutes to get the chicken fried steak. That should have been a sign. Like how can you do that in three minutes. Well, the chicken fried steak came out with the batter burned and it tasted awful. Somehow the spices in the batter got concentrated and again it was toasted very dark brown. She scarped off the batter to get to what was over cooked meat but at least the gravy covered up the yucky taste. My shrimp and polenta was ok but nothing special. To their credit they did give us the extra shrimp and polenta in a to go box. Doubt we go back as it is a long way from our house.
Amazing Prime Rib, wonderful service, great wine list. Wife says amazing crab cakes...mostly crab with just enough to make a cake. Overall A !
Very cute small town restaurant, done with a well thought plan. The venue is done exceptionally well and the wait staff were very attentive. I hate not giving 5 stars to a small town place clearly trying so hard. I assume we caught them on a bad night and your food will be better. We got the pork chop, which came very very salty. When we got closer to the bone we found it raw. The waitress apologized and offered to recook the last part of our pork chop, but we declined. She didn't have the training to take away the bleeding pork and left the plate on the table until we paid and left. There will be hiccups trying to staff a high caliber restaurant in a small town. We will try this place again and hope our next experience is better. Give it a go, but maybe don't order the pork.
Moses went above and beyond to make our dinner special. I highly recommend this establishment for high quality atmosphere, pleasant music and a memorable dinner. Recommend the salmon filet and uptown crab Louie salad
Returned to Uptown Blanco Restaurant tonight. We were greeted by the manager, Moses. He was very friendly. The restaurant was fairly busy as it was Saturday evening. We ordered the polenta steak bites for an appetizer. They were flavorful and an interesting twist. Would definitely order again. Next up entrees. Crab cakes and chicken fried steak. They were tasty and generous portions. Live music rounded out evening for a relaxing and comfortable vibe. Uptown Blanco Restaurant is a very nice change of pace for our piece of the Hill Country.
